Fallen by Lauren Kate.

A few years ago I tried to give this book a whirl and it just was NOT happening for me. I don’t even believe that I was able to finish it. Seeing as I am now older with a slightly different taste in the literature that I read, I decided to give it another try.

Boy, did I make the wroooong choice. It is quite literally one of the most boring books that I could have tried to read. It’s excruciating. It’s so slow. So far, I am about 1/3 of the way through and the only thing I have been able to gather is a girl that is haunted by “shadows”, and her annoying, pitiful, prepubescent, teenage-y crush on two different boys meeting in secret trysts.

Unlike my prepubescent teenage former self, I am going to finish this book. Unfortunately (And I mean unfortunate based solely on the 1/3 part that I have already read) I will probably read the rest of the series. Because I have to finish a book now, start to finish.

Hopefully, it turns around. It goes from annoying teenage-y crush to riveting, OMG I CANNOT PUT IT DOWN NOR CAN I NOT STOP TURNING THE PAGES, book. I guess we will see. And I’ll keep you posted.
